The 2706-PCNETK module is an InView ControlNet communication module that has been manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is specially designed to be used with the 2706-P7X and P9X message displays. It mounts inside the host message display unit. During the mounting process, the modules should be rotated 90 degrees so that the mounting holes are on the top and bottom. The rotation should be done in a clockwise direction. This module is used for internal communication and networking. The communication module can be connected to a personal computer using an Ethernet TCP/IP solution. It can be integrated with new and existing networks. The 2706-PCNETK module can be used for point-to-point serial communication as well as multi drop communication.
The 2706-PCNETK module can be connected to a PC which can be used to download message files and to update variables in the display. The module comes with a serial cable which can be connected to the terminal block inside the power supply cover on the rear side of the InView display module. The incoming serial wires are connected to the TB1 terminal block. The TB1 block is present in the display unit. The 2706-PCNETK module should be operated inside the panel in a temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. It can be stored between -25 and 70 degrees Celsius when it is not in operation. The environment should have operating and non condensing humidity levels between 5 and 95%. The main power should be disconnected during the installation of the communication module.
