About 2706-PENETK

The 2706-PENETK InView Ethernet module from Allen-Bradley is a communication module for the Ethernet/IP system that lets the operators connect the InView message display module with a personal computer. The communication module is connected to the RS-232 port and the RS-485 port of the display unit by using a serial communication cable. The communication module is mounted inside the display module. The module itself is housed inside a NEMA Type 12 enclosure which is resistant to water sprays. The 2706-PENETK module is compatible with the 2706-P7X and 2706-P9X series of the InView display units. The module helps to integrate the display into the information system. It lets the users communicate with the entire internal factory network. The module can operate at up to an altitude of 1000 meters above the sea level.

 

The 2706-PENETK module should be configured serially before it is mounted into the display. The module needs an initial setup to make the node address work properly on the network. To make sure the display unit and communication module are able to communicate, the operators need to set up the tags. The Ethernet configuration must be set initially. For troubleshooting, the 2706-PENETK module is equipped with LED indicators. These indicators help to isolate and correct common problems. The indicators show information about the network activity and the power supply to the module. The surrounding temperature should be kept between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. The environment should have a humidity level between 5 and 95%, non-condensing. The module requires an external power level of 1 Volt DC.
