The 2706-PENETM module is an EtherNet/IP communication module that has been designed by Allen-Bradley to be used with different kinds of industrial equipment, especially equipment in the InView communication equipment series. This module is intended to provide network connectivity and it enables equipment such as displays, PLCs, and SLCs to be connected to the EtherNet/IP network. This connectivity enhances communication between pieces of equipment by enabling them to transfer data and share resources. The Allen-Bradley 2706-PENETM EtherNet/IP communication module comes with an NEM housing that protects the most important parts of the module from external particles and it comes with the connections included. These connections enable the module to be installed with an InView display or other equipment. The compatible display terminals are the 2742-P42R, P42C, P43R, P43C, P44R, and P44C terminals.
The Allen-Bradley 2706-PENETM EtherNet/IP communication module uses the COMM and fault indicators to show operating problems. These indicators consist of two LED lights. The COMM indicator can glow with a solid fill, no fill, flashing, or blinking light. These different kinds of lights indicate normal operations, faults that have been detected, the power that is applied, and whether or not communications have been established. The fault indicator light can be solid, blinking, or with no fill, and these mean that the module has detected a fault, that the hardware is not functioning, or that operations are normal, respectively. The Allen-Bradley 2706-PENETM EtherNet/IP communication module can operate with a temperature range of 0 and 55 degrees Celsius, a humidity level of 5 to 95%, and shocks of 15 G maximum. This module is located on the track of the InView panel, and it needs to be attached with a screwdriver until it reaches the bottom of the back.
