The Allen-Bradley 2707-L8P2R is a remote I/O version of the DTAM Plus Operator Interface Module that works with PLC and SLC controller devices by Allen-Bradley. This unit can be applied to applications that involve monitoring or controlling the process’ data on the actual plant floor. It has an 8K memory capability that supports up to 50 screens of data and supports functions such as “recipe” types, which allow blocks of data to be quickly manipulated by downloading up to ten addresses maximum per screen. The user will be able to both develop and debug application programs through the module’s smooth display and point-access functions. This same function also allows a user to update and monitor data files in either PLC or SLC controllers.

The 2707-L8P2R RIO Operator Interface can support direct connections to a scanner that corresponds to the number SLC 1747-SN, a PLC over a remote I/O link, or a PLC-5 scanner or sub scanner. The brightness of its display screen is adjustable, with a keypad consisting of 4 lines with 20 characters per line. Its color-coded keys allow for quick identification: blue for navigation, dark grey for control display and format, and light grey for numeric inputs. The power connector is a fixed terminal block. Under the removable cover is the 6-position DIP switch used for selecting the operating setting.

The 2707-L8P2R ships with DTAM Plus LCD display unit, user manual (Catalog No. 2707-UM001B–EN–P), DIP switch cover, European type GMD fuses and holders, and eight mounting nuts plus 2 spares. It comes with a P2 power supply that accepts 110 to 300 Volts DC or 85 to 265 Volts AC (47 to 440 Hertz). Shipped with the DIP SW-1 switch positioned to On, the upload/download function is automatically enabled upon power up. While on the upload/download mode, the keypad cannot be used to operate the unit.
