The Allen-Bradley 2711-K10G3 is part of the PanelView 600 operator terminal which is part of the bigger product category, the PanelView Standard Graphic operator terminals. Graphic operator terminals made by Allen-Bradley are also generally referred to as Human Machine Interface (HMI) or Man Machine Interface (MMI). Both these terms refer to an electronic device that provides intuitive monitoring and control of a machine or process as well as actively communicate with partner automation devices such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), gateways and other compatible electronic based automation devices.

The 2711-K10G3 comes with a 10-inch screen with grayscale terminal. It has an Active Matrix Thin-Film Resistor (TFT) with Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCF) Backlight (4 shades of gray) with screen size of 211 x 158 mm (8.3 x 6.2 in.) and resolution 640 x 480 pixels. This operator terminal is operated using the embedded touchscreen that is composed of Sixteen (16) fully-programmable function keys, cursor keys and numerical keypad. To interact with automation devices, the 2711-K10G3 is equipped with a DH485 communication interface which is an RS485 based communication interface, supporting multi-node communication. For printing of alarms and events, allowing documentation and historization, the 2711-K10G3 is provided with a dedicated RS232 interface for printer communication.

The 2711-K10G3 has an embedded Flass application memory amounting to 100Kbytes. This memory area may be partnered with ATA memory cards for expansion and saving of HMI files such as trends and logs.

The unit also includes a field replaceable backlight that has a 50,000-hour life. The 2711-K10G3 Panelview 1000 comes with a DH-485 Communication port and RS-232 Printer Port and can use an ATA Memory card. The 2711-K10G3 Panelview 1000’s input voltage ranges from 85 to 264 volts AC, at 47 to 63 Hertz, with a maximum power consumption of 55 VA. It weighs 3.3 kilograms (7.2 pounds), and measures 28.2 x 42.3 x 11.2 centimeters (11.11 x 16.64 x 4.40 inches) The 2711-K10G3 Panelview 1000 has an operating temperature between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius (32 and 131 degrees Fahrenheit), and a storage temperature between -20 and 85 degrees Celsius (-4 and 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The 2711-K10G3’s working relative humidity range of 5 to 95% noncondensing at its working temperature range, its shock rating of 30g, and its operational vibration is up to 2g.
