The 2711-K5A3 is an Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus operator terminal that is specifically part of the PanelView 550 product category. This operator terminal comes with a keypad input interface, a colored display screen and Two (2) communication interfaces. This operator terminal operates when supplied with an input voltage range of 85-264 VAC, 47-63 Hz with maximum power dissipation of 45 VA. Specifically, the keypad interface is a stainless-steel domed membrane type that is made of Ten (10) function keys that accepts local and global assignments, navigation keys for object selection, alpha-numeric keys for entering numerical values, text or letters and confirmation keys such as cancel and enter button finalization of selection and acknowledgment. This keypad assembly is engineered to last up to 1 million presses. To view the process mimic, the 2711-K5A3 has a monochrome LCD screen with screen size of 5.5-inches, viewing area of 120 x 60 mm (4.75 x 2.38 in.) and resolution of 256 x 128 pixels. It is installed with a backlight with adjustable contrast and brightness. This backlight has runtime life of 100,000 hr. The 2711-K5A3 is provided with DH485 communication interface. This protocol is based on RS485 standard and support multi-node communication in daisy-chain topology. It supports high-speed data transfer over long distances. Aside from the DH485 port, it also has an RS232 9-pin D-shell connector that is used for direct communication with an alarm printer for documentation and archiving purposes.
