The Allen-Bradley visualization hardware with catalog number 2711-T12WA is a modern graphic operator terminal that features enhanced visualization capability, embedded with modern communication ports that supports improved integration capabilities along a modern and updated front panel design, fit for use in most industrial applications and popular with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).

The 2711- T12WA features a 12.1-inch widescreen display, with a resolution of 1280 x 800 WXGA, and aspect ratio of 16:10. This operator terminal supports use of colored animations and graphics as it is provided with a Color TFT LCD (thin-film-transistor, liquid-crystal display) along a non-replaceable Light-Emitting Diode (LED). This LED backlight is designed to reach half-life when reaching 50,000 hours operating life at 40 Degrees Celsius. Aside from the colored display, process and machine operators are provided with a convenient input interface through the analog resistive touch input area capable of being operated up to 1 million actuation at an actuation force of 100 grams.

The 2711-T12WA has built-in modern communication supports such as an SD card slot for insertion industrial grade Secure Digital (SD) cards for expanding the built-in memory 512MB Random Access Memory (RAM) and 250 MB non-volatile memory. It also has Two (2) high-speed USB 2.0 that supports insertion of removable drives for external storage and computer peripherals and One (1) USB 2.0 device port for connecting the terminal to the host computer.

To communicate with automation controllers, the 2711-T12WA feature a dual Ethernet communication interface supporting Linear, Star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topology. These ports support transmission speeds of Two 10/100Base-T with auto-negotiation capability.

This operator terminal is especially compatible with the modern Logix based controller platform and configured using the Studio 5000 View Designer.

The touchscreen is analog-resistive that has a 1 million-press actuation rating. This display also has a native resolution of 1280 x 800 WXVGA or 16:10 ratio and a TFT LCD display with a viewing area of 10.3 x 6.4 inches. The 2715-T12WA also has 262,144 colors or 18-bit color graphics and a non-replaceable backlight with a lifespan of more than 50,000 hours and 5W of typical power consumption. The 2715-T12WA also has various ports, particularly 2 Type A, high-speed USB 2.0 ports on the host where you can connect external flash storage drives, a Type B high-speed USB 2.0 device port for connecting the device to the host computer, and 2 Ethernet 10/100 USB ports that can handle DLR, star, and linear network topologies. You can also use a 1794-SDx card for external storage because the 2715-T12WA terminal has 1 SD card slot available.

It has applications in modern devices that require high-speed HMI buttons, such as jogging machines and other health and fitness devices. It has a panel-mounting option with a NEMA, UL, or IP-rated enclosure. The 2715-T12WA has less than 100ms of response time and a battery-powered real-time clock.
