The Allen-Bradley 2711-K6C3 is component product of the PanelView 600 standard operator terminal. This operator terminal is designed with a rugged and compact hardware, enabling the device to be installed in wide variety of applications in different industries. This electronic hardware primarily interfaces process operator and machine users with the process being monitored and controlled by providing an accurate process mimic and custom designed control points.

This PanelView is a visualization product that mainly functions as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) device, typically installed in the factory floor area. It communicates with automation controllers, gateways and converters and displays information through the5-inch color active matrix Thin Film Transistor (TFT) screen. Process may be displayed in data or a graphical view. The colored screen has an integrated backlight that is designed to operate up to 50000 hr. rated half-life. The screen has a resolution of 320 x 234 pixels.

Control of the process is introduced via the keypad interface that is made of Ten (10) function keys, numeric keypad and navigation keys. These keys may be installed with legend inserts to minimize inappropriate actuation of buttons.

The embedded DH485 communication port of the device may be used to exchange data between single or multiple PLC5, SLC 500 or MicroLogix processors on the DH485 network as well as 3rd party devices. This communication protocol also supports point-to-point or network transfers. The secondary RS232 port is used exclusively for interfacing with a printer. This provides alarm record printing that is used to create a hardcopy of the HMI’s alarm lists for future observation, analysis and documentation.

The discontinued Allen Bradley Panelview 600 2711-K6C3 is an operator terminal that enables the user to interface with their machine. This HMI has a 5 in. It also has a DH-485 and RS-232 Printer communication port. The user is able to control the HMI using the Keypad to input information and data. This unit is powered using 85-264 VAC power. This unit has 240 KB non-volatile and 190KB Random Access Memory (RAM).

The DH-485 terminals are capable of point-to-point communication with a single SLC 500 or MicroLogix controller. There is also system communication with multiple processors over the DH-485 network. Direct data table access via DH-485 minimizes the need for additional ladder logic.
