The Allen-Bradley 2711-T9A2 is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that is used in modern industrial automation applications. This electronic device is part of the PanelView 600 standard operator terminal, designed to integrate data and logic stored within a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC), converters and gateways.

With data collected and integrate, the 2711-T9A2 display these through the 6-inch monochrome display screen in a custom designed layout, graphically, textually or any applicable arrangement. It provides proper reference for operator action which is initiated through the analog resistive touchscreen that is composed of 128 touch cells with each touch cell covering 20 x 30 pixels. Data is exchanged over the built-in DH485 communication port, supporting communication rates of 1200, 2400, 9600, 19.2K and maximum distance of 1200, 2400, 9600, 19.2K 1219 m (4,000 ft).

This operator terminal is operated at a temperature fo 0-55 Deg. Celsius. It has an operating vibration and shock of 2 g up to 2,000 Hz and 15 g respectively. It come with a built-in application flash memory amounting to 240 Kbytes which can be expanded with the use of an ATA memory card. It is mounted to NEMA Type 12/13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54, IP65 rated enclosures and powered with 85-264VAC supply voltage range.

It comes with a DH485 communication port. The display screen is a touchscreen with key functions for entering values on the screen. A 120 Volts AC source powers the whole unit. The memory storage capacity of the terminal is 1008 KB, and the internal backlight is replaceable. The terminal weighs 8 pounds (3.6 kilograms) and has a length of 16 inches (40 centimeters), a width of 14 inches 35 centimeters) and a depth of 8 inches (20 centimeters). The most common series for this terminal are series A, B, C, D, E and F. The DH-485 terminals provide a two-way communication channel whose network controller can either be an SLC 500 or a MicroLogix. The DH-485 network enables different processors to communicate. In addition, extra ladder logic is unnecessary if a direct data table is available in the network.
