2711C-T6M

The PanelView component 2711C-T6M is a PanelView C600 that is used for communicating with Allen-Bradley controllers such as MicroLogix, SLC500m Micro800, CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers.

This PanelView operator terminal is generally referred to as a Human Machine Interface (HMI) which is used to implement process visualization, centralizing monitoring and control capabilities in the factory floor level. The 2711C-T6M is especially compatible for creating user interface and detailed process mimic of small to medium size applications. If configured properly, this operator terminal may contribute to faster and appropriate response as well as increase efficiency and accuracy of control.

The 2711C-T6M is a cost-effective and modular device as it comes with an on-panel, internet browser accessed, design environment with the option of alternatively using the DesignStation 2.0 or later for creating the appropriate application. This same terminal may also be installed with accessories to enhance and improve the capability of the 2711C-T6M.

The 2711-T6M comes with a Monochrome transmissive FSTN passive matrix, with a diagonal size of 5.7 in., display area of 115 x 86 mm (4.53 x 3.39 in.) and resolution of 320 x 240. Among the C600 PanelView component, this version is the only Monochrome device which means, only black and white graphics are supported. However, the designated operator input is via the touch sensitive screen which conveniently allows any operator to modify, initiate control by directly touching the appropriate runtime object.

The 2711C-T6M is recommended for use in enclosures that meets NEMA / UL Type 4X (indoor) 12, 13, and IEC IP54, IP65 (when marked).

The 2711C-T6M PanelView C600 component is externally powered via a DC voltage with range of 18-30V DC.

Primarily, this 2711C-T6M PanelView Component C600 Terminal serves as an operator interface, through which the user can monitor and control the devices attached to the controller within the system. As a C600 model terminal, its design features a touch display, a diagnostic status indicator, and multiple communication ports. The 2711C-T6M also comes equipped with a mounting slot. The 2711C-T6M’s communication ports include a 10/100 Mbit Ethernet port, an RS-422 or RS-485 port, an RS-232 serial port, USB device and host ports and a slot for a secure digital card. The ethernet port is compatible with either static IP addresses or a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol assigned an IP address. The user can create HMI applications using a web application installed on a computer, which connects to the 2711C-T6M. When connecting to a browser, the user should use the USB port or an Ethernet network connection via the appropriate communication ports on the 2711C-T6M. It is important to note, the 2711C-T6M uses the following IP address for the system’s emulator: 169.254.253.8.

Measuring at 6 inches, the 2711C-T6M has a monochrome transmissive FSTN passive matrix display with a 320x240 pixel resolution. This 2711C-T6M terminal’s display area is 4.53 x 3.39 inches or 115 x 86 millimeters and it uses a CCFL backlight. As with all Component C600 terminals, the 2711C-T6M has a backlight with a minimum 50,000 hour or 5-year life, which is not replaceable. The 2711C-T6M has a real-time clock that is equipped with a battery backup.

Consuming an 18-Watt maximum, or 0.75 amps when operating at 24 Volts DC, the 2711C-T6M requires an input voltage ranging from 18 to 30 Volts DC or 24 Volts DC nominally. It dissipates 32 BTU per hour. The entire terminal weighs 1.48 pounds or 0.68 kilograms. It is 6-inches high, 8.23-inches wide, and 2.25-inches deep, or 154 x 209 x 57 millimeters. When installing the 2711C-T6M, it is important to consider the terminal’s environmental requirements. During operating, the 2711C-T6M will be between 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. If the terminal is non-operational, it will withstand temperatures ranging from 13 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit or -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. The humidity in the environment may range from 0 to 95% non-condensing. As an enclosed terminal, the 2711C-T6M has an enclosure type with the following ratings: NEMA/UL Type 4X (indoor) 12, 13 and IEC IP54, IP65. The 2711C-T6M is durable and can withstand 15G of shock for 11milliseconds when operating or 30G of shock for 11 milliseconds when not in operation. It can withstand vibrations of 2G at anywhere from 10 to 500 Hertz.
