The Allen-Bradley 2711P-B12C6D1 is an operator panel interface from the PanelView Plus series. This is a TFT 12-inch color display panel with a keypad. The display is analog resistive with an 800 x 600 resolution and 18-bit color graphics, giving programmers an impressive display area (246 x 184 millimeter) to present large-scale industrial automation projects and machines with great detail. In addition to its high-resolution display, the 2711P-B12C6D1 PanelView has a 50,000-hour backlight lifespan. The keys starting with “K” and “F” (keypad function keys) are both programmable and have replaceable labels. The 2711P-B12C6D1, like all PanelView Plus terminals, is configured with FactoryTalk View Studio software applications. Projects can be also tested in this software environment before downloading them to the HMI. FactoryTalk View Machine Edition functionality is integrated as an application running base. A running application may be viewed and connected (read-only, without control) over a web browser by using ViewPoint software (add-on for FactoryTalk View Studio).
This 2711P-B12C6D1 PanelView terminal has several communication options, including RS232, DH+, DH-485, RIO, and Ethernet. The standard communication ports included in this module are one Ethernet, one RS-232, and two USB ports. Its memory capacity is 64 MB of RAM, with another 64 MB of flash memory, and 25 MB for application storage. A Compact Flash slot is available for backup, file transfers, data logging, or system upgrades. The power supply connection for the 2711P-B12C6D1 is 24 Volt DC rated; this device consumes around 70 Watts. The product’s weight is 3.4 kilograms (7.6 pounds), its dimensions are 282 x 416 x 55 millimeters (11.12 x 16.36 x 2.18 inches), and it operates in a temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. The HMI is delivered along with a power terminal block, a mounting kit, a panel cutout template, and instructions for installation. For a migration of this model to a PanelView Plus 6 series terminal, Rockwell Automation recommends using the 2711P-B12C4D8 panel.
