The Allen-Bradley 2711P-RDK12CK PanelView Plus terminal is an operator interface terminal. The user should ensure that the area is nonhazardous while disconnecting the equipment. Power should also be removed before this disconnection takes place to avoid accidents. This also applies to the disconnection of connections to this equipment. Care should be taken while substituting components because of the impairment of the suitability of Class I, Division 2 parts could occur during the substitution of components. This equipment should be suitable for the location in which it is used.

The 2711P-RDK12CK drive features a real-time clock or battery module which must only be changed in a nonhazardous area. For ventilation and connections, the user should organize for adequate space around the terminal inside the enclosure. The user also needs to ensure that the ambient temperature around the terminal is 0-55°C. The stiffness and the material strength of the panel should be in a position to maintain an appropriate seal against water and dust while holding the terminal. The panel surface must also be free of imperfections and should be flat for the maintenance of an adequate seal and UL and NEMA Type ratings.

While installing the 2711P-RDK12CK drive, tools are only required to make the panel cutout. The mounting levers are used in the securing of the terminal to the panel. Depending on the terminal model, four or six levers could be used. The terminal has mounting slots into which levers are inserted both at the top and the bottom. Before making the panel cutout in the 2711P-RDK12CK drive, all electrical power should be disconnected from the panel. The area around the panel cutout has to be clear. The panel should also be free of oil, debris, and other chemicals.
