The 2711P-T12W22A9P is a Human Machine Interface from Allen-Bradley. This electronic device is part of the PanelView Plus 7 Performance operator terminal that enable machine users and plant operators to efficiently monitor and control any process locally or remotely from a convenient location within the factory-floor or from a remote, central location.

The 2711P-T12W22A9P mainly features a 12.1-inch widescreen, colored display with resolution of 1280 x 800 WXGA in 18-bit color graphics and aspect ratio of 16:10. A non-replaceable backlight provides screen lighting and contrast with typical brightness of 300 cd/m2 (Nits). This backlight is designed for long-lasting operation with minimum half-life operation of 50,000 Hrs.

As the part number implies, this operator terminal has an analog resistive touchscreen interface. The individual touch cells are designed to actuate up to 1 million presses with operating force of 100 grams. It has a battery backed Real-Time Clock (RTC) with accuracy of ±2 minutes per month, battery life of 4 years, minimum.

The 2711P-T12W22A9P is equipped with expandable system memory amounting to 512MB Random Access Memory (RAM) and 512 MB storage. Internal user memory is also provided that approximately amounts to 80 MB non-volatile memory. External Secure Digital (SD) cards and removable flash drives may be installed to act as removable storage.

The 2711P-T12W22A9P primary communication interface are the dual Ethernet communication ports which individually support 10/100 Mbps communication speed with auto-negotiation function. These ethernet communication ports support linear, star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topology and compatible for connection with Allen-Bradley controllers and 3rd party devices.

It uses displays of animation and text to monitor and control devices connected to ControlLogix and CompactLogix 5370 controllers over an Ethernet/IP network connection. This HMI provides a clear, 12-inch backlit TFT 18-bit color touchscreen display with a 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution and a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:10 Its required input voltage is between 100-240 Volts AC with its 105 VA maximum power consumption. An advantage of this voltage range is that extreme power fluctuations won’t have a negative impact on the terminal’s functions. The terminal's weight and dimensions are 5.6 pounds and 9.69 x 13.39 x 2.74 inches, respectively and its default start-up is Closed System Environment (which can be manually changed to Open System). Its two Ethernet ports support DLR and it has 2 high-speed 2.0 USB ports, along with an audio port and an SD slot. It can store 1 GB RAM and 512MB of data in its user memory and will indicate fault/run status by way of LED lights in the back.
