The Allen-Bradley 2711P-RDK7C terminal is a PanelView plus display terminal that is an upgraded replacement terminal for the older PanelView graphics terminals. The terminal measures 7 inches and it has a color display and a keypad for input. The module is a human-machine interface that is to input data/information and display that information. The terminal is fast and it provides better response and better graphics than other terminals.

The Allen-Bradley 2711P-RDK7C is a PanelView Plus 700 and PanelView Plus 6 compatible display module. This component serves as replacement hardware to the existing display modules and functioning unit as PanelView Operator terminals are shipped with a pre-installed display module.

The 2711P-RDK7C mainly features a 6.5-inch diagonal screen measurement with effective viewing area of 132 x 99 millimeters (5.2 x 3.9 inches) and resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. It may only be used with Keypad operated terminals as the 2711P-RDK7C does not have touch sensitive cells.

When installing the 2711P-RDK7C, the main unit must be powered off in order to disable the module and disconnect the board connection of the existing display module. Additionally, since electronic parts of the operator terminal will be exposed, appropriate grounding and anti-static protections must be implemented or worn to avoid damage to the module. The module subject for replacement must be placed in a flat, clean and grounded surface while the personnel in charge for replacement must be grounded as well by touching a grounded object and wearing anti-static wristbands. These are necessary steps and procedures to implement to prevent the module from becoming a “walking wounded” component and to be able to maximize the display module’s operating lifespan.

This display module’s brightness and contrast may be adjusted through the operator terminal’s native configuration interface. Additionally, anti-glare overlays may be installed to provide additional protection and improved visibility. Proper installation and external lighting will also contribute for better view of the operator terminal’s visualization.
