The current Allen Bradley PanelView Plus 6 2711P-K6M20A8 operator terminal is a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that allows operators to interact with their machine or process. This operator interface has a 5.7 in. Monochrome Display and comes with an Ethernet and RS-232 communication port.

The EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is an open industrial network that supports real time I/O messaging, as well as message exchange. The Panelview Plus 6 provides significant improvements over the Panelview Plus 400 graphic terminals. The processor speed increased from 350 MHz to 1 GHz. The screen transition rate approximately 70% faster. The system memory increased from 64MB RAM to 256MB RAM and flash storage space increased from 64MB to 512MB. The illumination of backlight displays has increased. Also, there is greater connectivity to a variety of external hardware such as printers, mice, and keyboards. Optional communication modules can be ordered for additional network communication.

This operator terminal comes with an RS232 and ethernet communication standard interfaces. The RS232 interface is designed for DH485 and DF1 peer-to-peer communication while the Ethernet port is used for networked connections in linear topology.

The 2711P-K6M20A8 is flush mounted to a NEMA / UL / IP rated industrial enclosure. Enclosures with specific ratings of NEMA Type 12, 13, 4X (Indoor use only), IP54, IP65 enclosures are required for use. Follow the indicated cut-put dimensions in the provided cut-out template while maintaining mounting clearances of 51 mm (2 in.) for Top, 102 mm (4 in.) for bottom, 25 mm (1 in.). Mounting clearance ensure adequate air flow for natural cooling, preventing the device from overheating.

Use a stranded or solid wire type Cu 90 °C (194 °F) when wiring power supply to the terminal. Recommended wire sizes are 22-16 AWG for dual wire or 22…14 AWG for single wire.
