The S811+R10N3S soft starter is an S811+ series non-combination soft starter that is manufactured by the Eaton Corporation. It is rated 200 to 600 Volts AC operating voltage, and it has 3 poles, 105 Amps of current, and 24 Volts DC control voltage, and its Horsepower ratings are 60 Horsepower at 460 Volts AC, 30 Horsepower at 230 Volts AC, and 25 Horsepower at 200 Volts AC. It has a 100-millimeter frame, it weighs 4.9 kilograms, and its length is 7.92 inches, its width is 4.38 inches, and its height is 6.64 inches. The S811+R10N3S soft starter is designed to provide smooth starting and stopping processes for 3-phase induction motors both mechanically and electrically. Six Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs) are built into the S811+R10N3S soft starter to control the voltage applied to a motor and to control the torque developed by the motor until it reaches the commanded speed. This soft starter is ideal for use in a range of applications including pumps, chillers, and machine tools that usually require less than 100% of the motor’s rated starting torque for worst-case starting conditions. It provides an extended ramp time and its digital interface module includes an easy-to-read display unit and a keypad for viewing and modifying the parameters as required. The communication port on the S811+R10N3S soft starter is a screw terminal block which supports Modbus communication and it is compatible with Eaton human-machine interface modules. The starter also supports various wiring configurations, including the inside-the-delta wiring and inline wiring configurations. It features solid-state overload protection plus an array of system monitoring capabilities that give the users access to real-time process and diagnostics data.

The S811+R10N3S is a motor soft-starter that is used with 3-phase motors to implement smooth start up and stopping methods. This unit is manufactured by Eaton and comes with internal bypass and control circuitry. It also comes with an embedded Digital Interface Module (DIM), MODBUS communication interface and embedded I/O to allow wiring of external signal devices for additional methods of control.

The S811+R10N3S operates when supplied with 200–600 Volts AC at the main terminal and 24 Volts DC voltage for the control circuitry. It delivers an output current of 105 Amperes (AC-53) and 182 Amperes (AC-53, In-Delta) and an output power of 75 Horsepower. This starter is a Frame R device and supports direct panel mounting.

The S811+R10N3S is capable of implementing functions such as soft-start, ramp times, current limit, and kickstart. It may be controlled locally using the Digital Interface Module (DIM) or via externally mounted push-button devices wired to the input terminals designed to accommodate start, stop, jog and reset signals. Additionally, pilot lamps may also be connected to the Form A and Form C contacts available to this soft-starter. Pilot lamps may indicate bypass, fault, and ready status.

The S811+R10N3S has a start-up class rated CLASS 10 (star-delta replacement), CLASS 20 (heavy starting duty 3 x Ie for 45 s), and CLASS 30 (6 x Ie for 30 s). It has a protection rating of IP20 and IP00 for the terminals. It has an operating temperature of -30 to 50 degrees Celsius and an operating altitude of 0-2000 meters. Beyond 2000 meters, there is a 0.5% derating at every additional 100 meters.
