The S811+ Soft Starters are enclosure-mounted electrical devices that are designed and manufactured by Eaton Cutler-Hammer. They have been specially manufactured to be used with other motors as soft-starting devices. They can easily work with 3-phase supplies. They are equipped with 6 SCRs which are connected to each other by using a full-wave power bridge. The variation in the SCR conduction controls the voltage applied to the motor. Finally, the torque is controlled by using the generated voltage from the motor. The S811+ Soft Starters follow the common industry protocol and they come with different communication capabilities. They come with the Modbus communication protocol. The front parts of the started devices house a digital interface module which is used by the operators to configure and troubleshoot the starter devices. The modules are equipped with keypads with different navigational and control keys. The detachable 12-pin locking control terminal block is located on the bottom part of the front side. The starters meet different standards and certifications, including the UL, CSA, IEC, and CCC standards. The starter device meets the specifications set by NEMA, ICS, etc.
The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811+ Soft Starters are equipped with electronic motor overload protection features. These features help to protect the motors and the power wiring against overheating due to excessive current for a long time. The starters are available in different frame sizes, current ratings, power output ratings, maximum current carrying capacities, operating frequencies. The S811+ Soft Starters can be operated at up to an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. These starters are resistant to a shock of 15 G maximum from all directions and they are vibration-resistant to vibrations of up to 3 G from all directions.
