The S811+T24N3S is a an intelligent, microprocessor baser Soft starter that is manufactured by Eaton. This Soft starter primarily features an operating voltage of 200VAC-600VAC with overload setting frame of 305 - 100% of Full Load Current (FLA). It also has control circuitry with power requirements of 21.6VDC -26.4 VDC and steady state current of 1A and capable of withstanding an inrush current with maximum value of 10 Amperes.

The S811+T24N3S soft starter has a nominal current rating of 240 Amperes with maximum current capacity of 300 Amperes. It supports MODBUS RTU communication protocol which allow this device to be integrated with MODBUS RTU device acting as Master device. Compatible devices include Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. This soft starter also comes with a digital interface module that mounted of the device front panel with and LCD readout to provide operation and diagnostic feedback.

The S811+T24N3S carries certifications from Underwriter’s laboratories (UL); CSA file No. 3211-06; UL Listed; IEC 60947-4-2; EN 60947-4-2; CSA Certified for Elevator Duty.

This drive offers a variety of starting and stopping modes with configurable time settings such as Ramp time range of 0.5–180 seconds; Soft stop time range of 0–60 seconds; Kick-start time range of 0-2 seconds. Additionally, this soft starter has programmable initial Torque of 0-85%. Other but equally important configurable protective features include electronic overload, jam, stall, SCR overtemperature, phase loss, phase imbalance, automatic or manual reset, phase reversal, shorted SCR detection, open SCR detection, undercurrent, undervoltage, overvoltage, diagnostics.

his module provides microprocessor-based control to apply a soft start or soft stop to motors in applications that may not require 100% of the motor’s starting torque. Programmable startup options are built into the S811+T24N3S soft starter to meet the requirements of a variety of applications. Some of its starting and stopping modes include the voltage ramp start with adjustable torque and adjustable ramp time and the current limit start. The kick start function on this module provides higher initial torque to break away high-friction loads. It also features an adjustable soft stop process for applications that require a longer stopping duration than a coast-to-stop process will provide. The S811+T24N3S soft starter offers pump control that minimizes the pressure caused by the water hammer effect thereby preventing the downtime caused by damaged pipes or pumps. The communication module on the S811+T24N3S soft starter supports the Modbus RTU protocol and many other communication protocols. It features an intuitive operator interface that is equipped with a liquid crystal display and keypad, and the starters system operating parameters can be monitored remotely through a communication network. The internal solid-state overload protection on this module and its diagnostics components provide accurate current and thermal measurements to prevent nuisance trips and to protect the motor and system from fault conditions.
