The S811N66N3S soft starter is an Eaton Cutler-Hammer’s product, and part of the S811 open soft starter series. It has a voltage rating of 200 to 600 Volts AC, with a current rating of 66 Amps, and a frame measuring 65 millimeters. This starter is a standard starter and comes with a Horsepower rating of 20 Horsepower, and an operating frequency range of 47 to 63 Hertz. The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811N66N3S open soft starter and all the S811 series soft starters feature Intelligent Technologies (IT). They are specially engineered and intended for use in 3-phase induction motors to offer easy electrical and mechanical starting processes. These Eaton soft starters are electrical and self-reliant, and they can be either panel or enclosure-mounted.

Generally, the S811 soft starters series uses up to 6 SCRs linked in a complete wave power bridge. The SCR conduction period provides control of the voltage applied to the motor. As a result, this controls the motor-developed torque. When an engine reaches its desired speed, the contacts close to sidestep the SCRs. The Eaton S811N66N3S soft starter comes with built-in communication options connected through the Quick Connect (QC) ports. The S811N66N3S soft starter and all the S811 soft starters come with a Digital Interface Module (DIM) which allows the operators to set up and read all the system parameters. The DIM contains an easily readable LCD and a keypad for navigating, scrolling, and selecting the controls. Additionally, the DIM enables the operator to modify and make control parameters changes. It enhances the setting of communication variables, enables or disables the motor protection features, monitors the system strictures like line currents and voltages, and also accesses the fault queue.
