The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811R10N3S open soft starter is a solid-state device used for motor starting. This soft starter has a 200 to 600 Volts AC power supply, a maximum current capacity of 105 Amps, and a 24 Volts DC control power rating. Its internal processor calculates the voltage and current that are needed at the output to start a 3-phase induction motor according to the users’ pre-set parameters. The S811R10N3S soft starter is a compact device that is built to save installation space and to reduce the heat generated in its internal circuits by using the contactor-executable bypass system. This soft starter is assembled with advanced industrial automation needs. This is why the device is equipped with 2 QCPort communication ports, the remote network port (channel 0) and the local port (channel 1).

When operational, the Eaton S811R10N3S soft starter delivers special motor overload protection with 30 to 100% of the rated current trip setting (programmable by the users). The controller also offers DC voltage level monitoring, stall protection, and jam detection. Over an HMI with an LCD, the soft starter provides information on preventive maintenance, active alarms, and the data collected with a metering system which records the power parameters. The S811R10N3S soft starter is a 110-millimeter framed soft starter that has a non-derating operating temperature range of -30 to 50 degrees Celsius. In the back lower part of the device, there is an internal fan that makes sure that this motor starter does not get overheated.
