The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811T30P3S soft starter is an Eaton Intelligent Technology soft starter. It is a compact motor controller that is designed to deliver smooth 3-phase motor acceleration. The S811T30P3S soft starter has 3-phase motor starting capability and a current rating of 304 Amps. This device is a modern alternative to the star-delta starters which can reduce the starting torque and start current levels by up to 66 or 67%. If the S811T30P3S soft starter uses electronic modules with solid-state technology, this reduction level can be set and adjusted with programming parameters within a wide range. With a control voltage of 24 Volts DC and an input voltage range between 200 and 600 Volts AC, this device can be used in almost all industrial surroundings. Additionally, the unit has a built-in pump control option which eliminates the water hammer effect in pipelines.

The Eaton Cutler-Hammer S811T30P3S soft starter can be mounted at heights of up to 2000 meters and it can withstand temperatures lower than 50 degrees Celsius. It features a reset button that is used to clear faults manually on the factory floor. This soft starter can also be programmed to accept the reset signal over a network adapter with the quick connect port which allows industrial automation designers to include this function in SCADA controlled systems. On the front side of the soft starter, there is an LCD screen that is a part of the human-machine interface that also includes programming buttons and start and stop buttons. The S811T30P3S soft starter enhances process performance and simplifies the whole process of motor speed control by activating the bypass contactor as soon as the motor reaches its nominal speed.
