The Eaton S811V42N3S soft starter is a 3-pole none-combination soft starter which is part of the Eaton S811 product line. Starters belonging to the S811 series include all the features of the starters in the S801 series and they also support communications capabilities and digital interface modules. The S811 series S811V42N3S soft starter is compact and easy to program and it is designed to manage the acceleration and deceleration of 3-phase motors at up to 690 Volts AC. The S811 series supports current ratings from a minimum 11 Amps to a maximum of 1000 Amps. The frame size of the S811V42N3S soft starter is 290 millimeters and it is rated for 420 Amps of current. This device is a standard soft starter with an edge sensing feature that is set to the default selectable setting. The starter is a complete package and includes the SCRs and overload and bypass contactors inside 1 compact unit.

The S811V42N3S soft starter can be mounted on a panel or inside motor control centers. The digital interface module available on the S811V42N3S soft starter allows for easy device configuration. The LCD and keypad on the interface module enable the users to configure the control parameters and monitor the system parameters and faults. Electronic overload protection on the S811V42N3S soft starter protects it from overheating. Jam protection is enabled when a current more than 300% FLA causes the starter to trip and it protects the device from stress and the damage caused by a jam during normal operations. Stall protection prevents motor damage and stress in situations where the motor has not been able to reach the desired speed or has stalled. The phase loss protection feature trips the S811V42N3S soft starter if 1 of the 3 phases is lost to prevent extra load and current draw on the remaining two phases.
