Manufactured by the Cutler-Hammer branch of Eaton, the D100AC10 is a programmer cable with dual contacts which is usually available in a grey color. The D100AC10 cable is a 6-foot long telephone-style programmer cable with 8 modular pins for connectivity (or 8 connecting points). The plugs must be placed and connected face to face for a better supply of power for the parts to which the D100AC10 is connected. This spare programmer cable can operate with D100 PLC units, allowing it to easily work on voltage ranging between 14 and 120 Volts of AC input power. The weight of D100AC10 programmer cable is around 0.074 kilograms. It is used to connect MDU parts to D100 parts.
The installation process for D100AC10 is quite simple; the cable itself is furnished with a Direct Connect unit, meaning that it can be directly connected to D100 PLC parts. It can also be connected directly to the other parts that are needed to store or transfer information through the D100 PLC units. Some of the other parts to which the D100AC10 can be connected include controllers and input units. The D100AC10 triggers messages between the parts it is connected to, while simultaneously providing energy to the Retentive Coils (or L coils) and Internal Relays (or R coils). The D100AC10 can also be used to connect parts that are not PLCs, as it generates power between two units. The cable is, however, best used when connected to parts that are used directly with a computer. Since the D100AC10 is a programmer cable, its functionality entirely depends on the controller. The power on and off buttons, I/O or HALT, and RUN buttons on the various controllers are primarily what determines the functionality of this cable.
