The D100CR40 Micro Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is from the D100 family of Cutler-Hammer’s PLCs. This small-in-size and cost-effective family of PLCs is designed to carry out a wide range of data acquisition and control functions and applications. The D100CR40 is a stand-alone, 40 I/O controller system with manual. Like all other members of the D100 family, it has its own central processing unit (CPU), power supply, diagnostic LEDs, RAM memory and inputs and outputs. It is powered by 115V AC, has 16 relay output (rated from 24V DC to 230V AV) and twenty four dry contacts 24V DC inputs. The system maximum I/O for the Controller, through the use of an expander, is 80 I/O – i.e. 48 inputs and 32 outputs. The controller has a hand-held programmer that has a large LCD screen display used in displaying power flow as well as programming functions. The controller can be programmed via the hand-held programmer or directly by a personal computer. The D100CR40 also features 16 timers, jump, one-shot, 16 counters, master control, 256 step sequence and 128 shift registers. It houses a cartridge-mounted electronically erasable 1K RAM EEPROM which is used to store and record programs. The PROM can be used to repeat a program for use in series of applications, store programs for quick retrieval in the event of a system failure or loss, and also for sending programs to remote areas for changing and updating system operations. Weighing 1.5 kilograms (3 pounds and 6 ounces), this controller should be mounted in an environment that is free from conductive dust, such as metallic powders, as well as flammable gases, salt, oil mist, or organic solvents, as well as from corrosive gases, such as H2S or HCI. The ideal ambient temperature for operating the controller is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius; this module should be stored between -15 and 75 degrees Celsius.
