About IC670CHS102

The GE Fanuc Field Control IC670CHS102 I/O base terminal block works as a wiring-to-board interface for the connection of GE Fanuc I/O modules with field device wiring without the need to physically connect those modules directly. Having this type of terminal block instead of direct module connections helps keep the panels in order, avoid messy cabling configurations, and makes troubleshooting easy by permitting the insertion and removal of modules even when the power has not been turned off. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS102 I/O base terminal block has t3 independent groups of terminal connection points that share a common connection between them but are isolated from one another. Those groups are known as groups A, B, and E. Groups A and B are for power source connections, while Group E is used as a common reference point for application wiring.

The GE Fanuc I/O modules can be inserted or detached from the GE Fanuc IC670CHS102 I/O base terminal block without the need to disconnect the power beforehand. Nevertheless, this operation (known as hot-swapping) should not be executed in hazardous locations, because this might generate a spark that could start a fire in those locations. Hot-swap operations are available only if the Bus Interface Unit or BIU in the system is of version 2.1 or above.  Each GE Fanuc IC670CHS102 I/O base terminal block can accommodate up to 2 independent modules with a catalog number suffix of "J" or beyond. There are 37 screw connection points in the terminal block, and each one is able to receive 1 AWG #14 wire or two AWG #18 to AWG #22 wires.
