The ES1222R QuickPanel view operator interface terminal by General Electric (GE), is a highly advanced, multifunctional display control terminal designed to provide an industrial process with full process control, visualization, and the ability to run the embedded data historian for improved real-time control and simplified system integration. The QuickPanel view family provides fast processing speed, high memory capacities, improved visualization, state-of-the-art displays, and multi-touch technology for high performance, enhanced user experience, increased productivity, and cost-saving. The ES1222R terminal offers visualization through the 12-inch-wide TFT LCD touchscreen with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution and a screen brightness rating of 500 NITS. It has a Cold Cathode Fluorescent (CCFL) backlight with up to 40,000 hours of half-life, which can be extended via the time feature turn-off setting. The ES1222R terminal also offers a resistive touchscreen surface that can be operated with gloves, and an on-screen simulated keypad (soft input panel). It has an operating voltage rating of 24 Volts DC and a real power rating of 48 Watts.

The ES1222R terminal comes with a high-speed Intel XScale PXA255 processor that offers high-speed processing for even the most demanding applications. This device comes with 64 MB of memory that is split between user data storage and the Windows operating system, and this memory can be expanded to up to 128 MB via the integral memory expansion slot. The ES1222R terminal has 2 USB ports for connection to peripheral devices like a printer and keyboard, and a single FieldBus slot for connection to major industrial automated network protocols. It has serial communication ports (RS-232/RS-485), and 2 Ethernet/IP communication ports for more connectivity options. The ES1222R terminal has LED indicators that show the device’s status, and it comes with a front panel bezel that provides additional screen protection. It has total enclosure dimensions of 226.8 x 301.1 x 60.1 millimeters.
