The IC754CBL06CTD is an operator interface manufactured by GE (General Electric). It belongs to the QuickPanel+ series of HMIs (Human Machine Interface) used widely in industrial control applications of manufacturing-type processes. The IC754CBL06CTD is has a small, 6 inch widescreen TFT color touch screen, but is very flexible with great communication options. The heart of this device is an advanced ARM 1GHz Cortex A8 microprocessor (Freescale i.MX535). This computing software is further enhanced with 512MB of RAM memory (DDR2 SDRAM), 256MB of ROM memory, and 512KB of SRAM memory (with battery backup). The operating system preinstalled on the panel is a Microsoft Windows 7 Embedded Compact (32-bit) system. This operating system will start up automatically after applying power or after resetting the QuickPanel+.

Users may connect to this QuickPanel for programming purposes through the Proficy View Machine Edition software (graphical interface component of Proficy Machine Edition) which is connected to an RS232/RS485 communication port. The connection to a workstation is established via an HMI-CAB communication cable. Another way to update a Machine Edition application with a new revision is by storing it on a flash device (SD card) and rebooting the device. The IC754CBL06CTD operator interface has 3, color LED status lights: Amber for OS start, steady green for normal operating, blinking green when the backlight is off, red blinking if the backlight fails, or completely off when the panel is not powered. The available communication ports are one (1) RJ45 Ethernet port, one (1) RS232 and RS485 port, one (1) USB device, and two (2) USB host ports. One Compact flash card slot (SD/SDHC) is available.
