The GE Fanuc IC698CHS217 Rx7i System Rack is an 18-slot rear-mounted rack with I/O access. The IC698CHS217 Rack is used with the GE Rx7i CPU and I/O modules, the GE Series 90-70 I/O modules, and the Versa Module Eurocard (VME) modules. The IC698CHS217 Rack has 0.8 inches spaced backplane connectors for attaching the single-slot RX7i modules, Versa Module Eurocard (VME) modules, and the Series 90-70 modules to it, and it also has seventeen 0.8 inches spaced rear I/O access connectors with offset brackets. The standard IC698CHS217 Rack features include VME64 base support, software configuration, high-wattage power supply support, slot-sensing support, and support for an optional fan assembly which can all be installed on the rack.
The IC698CHS217 Rack supports 100 and 350 Watts rated Rx7i power supplies. It has a maximum current draw of 20 Amps from the 100 Watts power supply (at 5 Volts DC) and 60 Amps from a 350 Watts power supply (at 5 Volts DC). The Rx7i CPUs and I/O, Series 90-70 I/O, and VME modules can be connected either through the backplane rack connectors or the rear I/O access connectors. The IC698CHS217 Rack supports the following I/O combinations: 15 single-slotted modules, 8 double-slotted modules, or a combination of single-slot and double-slot modules. The IC698CHS217 Rack has an open-style design, and it must be installed in an IP 54 rated enclosure at a minimum. The IC698CHS217 Rack has an operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (without a fan) and a relative humidity range of 5 to 95% (non-condensing). The IC698CHS217 Rack has approximate rack dimensions of 283 x 483 x 228 (without a rear cover). The IC698CHS217 Rack is built to withstand 15 G of maximum shock for 11 milliseconds duration.
