The IC693CMM321 is an Ethernet interface module that is part of the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. This module is manufactured by GE Fanuc automation that is primarily used to directly interface a Series 90-30 baseplate to an existing ethernet network for the purpose of implementing distributed I/O or allow CPU and communication adapters communicate to remote stations, Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

The IC693CMM321 feature a variety of communication to perform different tasks. This module has One (1) RS-232, RJ-11 Serial Port acting as the Station Manager Port, One (1) RS-485, 15-pin, D-type Serial Port used as Software Loader Port and One (1) AAUI Port that is used as Network Port for connecting the module to the Ethernet network. This module is also provided with LED indicators that allow user to monitor the operation of each port and overview of the module’s status. These indicators are OK, LAN, SER and STAT. Respectively, LED indicators depict the state of Interface is in, existing traffic on the Transceiver port and Downloader port, and presence of an exception event.

The IC693CMM321 is ideally used with s CPU version 6.50 or higher to achieve full functionality. It may still be used with CPU versions 5.03 to 6.04 however, Ethernet operation is limited to only One (1) SRTP server connection. For configuration, a variety of programming software may be used such as Logicmaster 90-30 version 6.01 or higher, Control Version 2.01 or higher, or VersaPro version 1.0 or higher. All these software applications are installed to a computer.

The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693CMM321 Ethernet interface TCP/IP module can diagnose and maintain a PLC system, initiate a data transfer from the PLC to other devices, and communicate with multiple devices simultaneously and support as many as 16 server connections. Either 1 or 2 of these Ethernet interface TCP/IP modules can be installed at a time in any type of GE Series 90-30 baseplate, but these modules are not compatible with GE handheld programmers from the Series 90-30/20/Micro product lines. The IC693CMM321 Ethernet interface module has 2 ports and 4 LED indicators. The ports are the Station Manager Port and the Firmware Upgrade Port and the LEDs are the OK LED, the LAN LED, the SER LED, and the STAT LED.
