The IC200CHS003 carrier is a connector-style I/O carrier which is part of the Versamax series of I/O products from GE Fanuc. There is a 36-pin connector on the IC200CHS003 carrier for attaching an I/O cable. The IC200CHS003 carrier provides mounting, backplane communications, and field wiring for one I/O module. The IC200CHS003 carrier measures 2.63 x 5.25 inches and mounts on a DIN rail measuring 7.5 millimeters x 35 millimeters. The compatible module mounts vertically on the IC200CHS003 carrier perpendicular to the DIN rail. GE Fanuc recommends use of an unpainted DIN rail which is resistant to corrosion. Grounding of the DIN rail is also recommended for the provision of EMC protection. For applications where resistance to mechanical shock and vibration is required, the IC200CHS003 carrier should be mounted inside an industrial panel.
I/O devices can be wired to interposing I/O terminals on the IC200CHS003 carrier. Connections to the IC200CHS003 connector-style carrier are made via cable. Available cables include the IC200CBL105 cable (2 connectors, 0.5 meters, no shield), IC200CBL110 cable (2 connectors, 1 meter, no shield), IC200CBL120 cable (2 connectors, 2 meters, no shield), and the IC200CBL230 cable (1 connector, 3 meters, no shield). A notch is provided on the connector to indicate the pin orientation. A connector kit is available from GE Fanuc for building custom cables. The part number for this kit is IC200ACC304. Due to isolation requirements, the IC200CHS003 carrier can be used with all Versamax I/O modules except the following: the IC200MDL144, IC200MDL244, and IC200MDD850 modules. The IC200CHS003 carrier accommodates the following current levels: 8 Amps of power and ground current, and 2 Amps of point current. The module can sustain voltage transients of up to 300 Volts AC.
