The FS10-R30 from Honeywell is a robust gas detector transmitter designed to efficiently monitor hazardous gases. Weighing 5.5 lbs, this unit has a nominal voltage range of 24 volts DC and can operate from 12 to 32 volts DC. Installation is simplified, featuring dual cable entry points sized at 3/4" NPT for the UL/cUL version. This device boasts an IP66 rating for its housing, which is constructed from epoxy-painted aluminum alloy (LM25/ADC12), ensuring durability and resistance to harsh environments.

The temperature range for safe operation is expansive, covering -40°C to 65°C under certified conditions. For applications utilizing a catalytic sensor, this range adjusts to -20°C to 55°C. The FS10-R30 is equipped with a catalytic bead sensor (with a 705 sensor), capable of detecting gases in the range of 0 to 100% LEL. Relay outputs consist of three independent relays, each rated for 5 amps at 250 VAC, enabling it to manage multiple alarm conditions.

Power consumption is a key aspect, with a maximum draw of 4.9 watts for the catalytic sensor and an inrush current of 800 mA at 24V DC during startup. Communication capabilities include the RS485 Modbus RTU protocol alongside a 4-20 mA output, which can serve either as a sink or source. The unit can effectively handle a maximum relative humidity level of 80% without condensation, making it suitable for a wide range of installation scenarios.
