The SPXCDULNTXFM model from Honeywell is engineered as a flammable gas and infrared transmitter. This device operates efficiently within a voltage range of 12 to 32 VDC, with 24 VDC being the nominal. Weighing in at 4.4 pounds, this transmitter is designed for robustness and durability.
Rated at IP66, the housing is well-protected against dust and powerful water jets. It can function across an operating temperature spectrum from -40°C to 65°C, and it tolerates storage temperatures ranging from -25°C to 65°C. The humidity capabilities range from 20-90% relative humidity in continuous operation, and up to 99% for intermittent exposure without causing condensation.
Aspects of the transmitter’s design include a housing made from epoxy-painted LM25 aluminum alloy, providing corrosion resistance. It features a maximum inrush current of 800 mA at 24 VDC and outputs a signal of 4-20 mA, which can be configured for either sink or source. Additionally, it supports RS485 Modbus RTU for communication.
The device includes a relay rating of three 5A relays at 250VAC, two of which are designated for alarms, while the third is available for fault indications. For cable entry, it has two 3/4" NPT entries. The infrared sensor type must be ordered separately, and the unit can be mounted using its integral mounting plate that offers four M8 bolt holes or through an optional pipe mount kit. The maximum power consumption for the infrared sensor is recorded at 3.7 W. This wide array of specifications makes the SPXCDULNTXFM ideal for various gas detection applications.
