The AS-VAV100-0 variable air volume (VAV) controller from Johnson Controls is a cutting-edge electronic device designed for precise digital administration of numerous VAV box configurations, such as single duct, twin duct, fan-powered, and supply/exhaust systems. This controller can be used as a standalone device or seamlessly integrated into the Metasys network, allowing for extensive point-and-control information sharing across the network. It has six analog inputs and four binary inputs. The operators can use analog sources to measure temperature, humidity, etc. The binary inputs can be used to identify motion, smoke, or other events. It also can control dampers, valves, and other devices with binary outputs. The binary outputs utilize 24V AC rated with 0.5 amps current. There are zero or two 0-10 VDC analog outputs with a maximum current rating of 10 milliamperes. Through an N2 Bus interface, devices are able to communicate. The zone bus connections can be made using either the 8-pin phone connector on the controller or the 6-pin phone port on the zone sensor; however, the N2 Bus interface is not isolated. Quick-connect spade connectors are used for power and I/O terminations, while a fixed screw terminal block is used for N2 terminations. The ambient temperature for the VAV controller is 0 to 50 degrees Celsius with 10 to 90 percent humidity. It is equipped with an 11 megahertz rated CPU, an 8-bit word size, an 8k EEPROM (2k for VAV 100/101), a 64k ROM/EPROM, and an 8k RAM capacity. The AS-VAV100-0 VAV controller is integral to effective HVAC control and environmental management systems due to its extensive features and dependable operation.
