The Johnson Controls MS-NAE5520-1 NAE55 series module is a robust Network Automation Engine or NAE with a variety of features. It comes with a LONWORKS port, and it can support 2 N2 trunks or 2 BACnet MS/TP trunks, or one of each of these trunks. It also supports a LONWORKS trunk. The MS-NAE5520-1 module can handle as many as 255 devices on its LONWORKS trunk, and this makes it ideal for use in complex automation networks. To ensure reliable and efficient performance, the NAE5520-1 operates on a nominal voltage rating of 24 VAC, at 50/60 Hz with a maximum power consumption rating of 50 VA. Its operating temperature range is from 32 to 122°F with 10 to 90% RH. Furthermore, its storage temperature range is from -40 to 158°F with 5 to 95% RH. The NAE5520-1 module has a 400 MHz Geode GX533 processor and 512 MB of Flash nonvolatile memory, which stores the module’s operating system, the configuration data, and the operations data. In addition, it possesses 256 MB of DRAM or Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory for dynamic memory during operations. The NAE5520-1 module features an Ethernet port, 2 optically isolated RS-485 ports, 2 RS-232-C serial ports that have standard 9-pin sub-D connectors, 2 USB serial ports, and a telephone port for connecting to an internal modem. It can be installed or mounted on a flat surface with screws on 4 mounting feet or on a dual DIN rail.
