The Mitsubishi FX-4AD-TC acts as an analog input block focused on thermocouple measurements. This module accommodates four thermocouple inputs, allowing for real-time monitoring of temperature using Type K and Type J thermocouples. The operating temperature range for Type K spans from -100°C to +1200°C (-148°F to +2192°F), while Type J functions within -100°C to +600°C (-148°F to +1112°F).

With a resolution of 0.4°C for Type K and 0.3°C for Type J, this device allows for precise measurement readings. The conversion speed stands at 240 milliseconds per channel, facilitating timely data updates. The accuracy rating is ±0.5% FS, adding only an additional 1°C at 0°C to ensure reliable and accurate readings.

Data output is provided in a 12-bit format and is stored as a 16-bit two's complement value. The FX-4AD-TC employs photocoupler isolation for safety, although there is no isolation between channels. It operates with an output range of -1000 to +12000 for Type K and -1000 to +6000 for Type J.

Power consumption is rated at 24V DC drawing 60mA, and it can also operate with 5V at 40mA through the FX base. The module utilizes eight I/O points on the FX expansion bus. Furthermore, it includes built-in error detection that captures range and disconnection errors, enhancing the reliability of the system.
