Mitsubishi’s Q68DAVN is a digital-analog converter module that excels in signal processing and conversion tasks. This compact unit weighs just 0.20 kg and supports a total of 16 I/O points, arranged intelligently for optimized operation. It is engineered to provide readings from 8 analog input channels, delivering precise output through 16-bit signed binary input. In normal resolution mode, the digital input operates within a range of -4096 to 4095. The high-resolution mode extends the range further, allowing for inputs from -12288 to 12287 and -16384 to 16383.

For analog output, the module offers a voltage range from -10 to 10 V DC, which is ideal for a variety of external load resistances, specifically between 1 k-ohm and 1M-ohm. Additionally, this module has an E2PROM write count rated for up to 100,000 cycles, ensuring durability in data storage operations.

The design includes output short circuit protection, enhancing system safety. The insulation method is as follows: photo coupler insulation is employed between the I/O terminals and the programmable controller's power supply, while transformer insulation is provided between the external supply power and analog outputs. However, note that there is no insulation between the output channels themselves.

Testing for reliability, the dielectric withstand voltage is rated at 500VAC for 1 minute between the I/O terminals and programmable controller, as well as between the external supply power and the analog output. For connection, it uses an 18-point terminal block and has an internal current consumption of 0.38 A at 5 V DC.
