CJ1W-CRM21

The Omron CJ1W-CRM21 module is a CompoNet master unit designed for use with the Omron CJ series PLCs. It is classified as a CJ series special I/O unit, and it provides efficient communication capabilities for CJ series PLC systems. The CJ1W-CRM21 master unit’s current consumption rating is 400 mA maximum at 5 VDC from the PLC power supply. The CJ1W-CRM21 module’s communications power supply can handle a maximum current capacity of 5A (UL rating: 4A). Depending on the configuration, the CJ1W-CRM21 master unit can be used in a system with several master units. It can operate in a system with 40 total master units with one or two word numbers assigned, in a system with 24 total master units with four word numbers assigned, and in a system with 12 total master units with eight word numbers assigned. To ensure reliable performance, the CJ1W-CRM21 master unit conforms to the IEC 61000-4-4 standards, and it has a noise immunity rating of 2kV (applied to the PLC power supply). For proper functioning, a communications power supply type of connector needs to be provided for slave units or for repeater units on the trunk line when the master unit is using a Round Cable II type of cable, a Flat Cable I type of cable, or a Flat Cable II type of cable. The CJ1W-CRM21 master unit features a dielectric strength rating of 500 VAC between isolated circuits and an insulation resistance rating of 20 megohms minimum between isolated circuits, ensuring electrical safety. The CJ1W-CRM21 operates effectively within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 55°C, with an operating relative humidity range of 10% to 90% (with no condensation). It is essential to maintain an atmosphere around the unit with no corrosive gasses in it for optimal performance. For storage, the recommended ambient temperature range is -20 to 75°C. The CJ1W-CRM21 master unit weighs about 130 g and can be easily incorporated into automation setups.
