The Omron CJ1W-ETN21 Ethernet communication unit is engineered to enhance system integration for the CJ1 PLC series. This compact unit weighs just 0.22 lbs and derives its power from the CJ-series PLC backplane, making it energy-efficient. For connectivity, it utilizes an RJ45 8-pin connector, adhering to IEEE802.3 compliance, and supports a physical layer capable of 100BASE-TX Ethernet standards with the option to operate in 10BASE-T mode.

Designed for environments with variable temperatures, this device functions optimally within a range of 0 to 55°C. It can be stored at temperatures between -20 to 75°C, ensuring reliability in diverse conditions. With a humidity tolerance of 10% to 90% relative humidity (non-condensing), it is suitable for standard industrial settings.

The CJ1W-ETN21 allows for seamless communication using FINS/UDP, FINS/TCP, and TCP/UDP socket services, facilitating easy integration into existing network infrastructures. This unit boasts a maximum data rate of 100 Mbit/s and can handle twice the baud rate when operating as a 10BASE-T device. A maximum of four units can be interconnected within a single system, including those in expansion racks, promoting versatility and scalability.

Furthermore, the device can transmit signals effectively over a distance of 100 meters from the hub to each connected node and operates using a CSMA/CD media access method to manage network traffic efficiently.
