This unit is mountable with a maximum of 16 units in conjunction with other CPU Bus units, enhancing its integration capabilities. It facilitates data exchange with the CPU Unit, allocating 25 words in the CIO area for software switches and status, while each port can utilize 10 words in the DM area. Moreover, the module provides compatibility with a CPU rack (supporting up to 10 units) and an expansion backplane (also up to 10 units), allowing for significant expansion capabilities that enable up to 32 serial communication ports.
