About 1336

The Allen-Bradley 1336 series adjustable frequency AC drives are popular motor speed control devices for 3-phase induction motors. Although Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation has also produced more modern speed control devices than the ones in the 1336 series, this series of adjustable frequency AC drives remains popular on the market due to their robust design, high-quality speed and torque control, and modest maintenance requirements in harsh industrial environments. The 1336 Series B-rated devices are designed to operate with 3-phase 380, 415, and 460 Volts AC voltage, while the C-rated devices are designed to operate at 500, 575, and 600 Volts AC voltage. Depending on the environment where the devices are going to be installed, they can be configured with the IP 00, IP 20, IP 54, and IP 56 rated enclosures. The enclosures can also be separately ordered in the event of a device role change.

Accessories that can be installed onto 1336 series AC drives immediately in the factory or in the field and extend the operating life of the device include a control panel (HMI), logic interface boards (5 Volts DC, 24 Volts DC, or 115 Volts AC), or a serial port connector. These AC drives are designed to be modular and they can use the same parts throughout the product series so that users who have a large number of frequency converters installed in their plants will have simplified maintenance procedures and drastically reduced spare parts inventories. Allen-Bradley 1336 series AC drives are internally protected by fuses and MOVs, and the microprocessors themselves monitor current measurements through the device and respond to conditions that could either damage the drives or the motors connected to them.
