About 1395 Drives

The Allen-Bradley 1395 Digital DC drives series is a series of compact DC motor speed control units that feature superior performance that is derived from quality embedded components and perfectly modeled control algorithms that are loaded into the drives’ processors. They come with the 2-quadrant or 4-quadrant operation options, in regenerative or non-regenerative versions, with highly dynamic response, with easy customization, and with fully digital control. The main hardware components of the 1395 DC drives are the main control board (MCB) that acts as the brain of the whole system, PCI switcher board with the function to provide interface functions between MCB and power board, power board that generates gate firing pulses for the armature, and the 3-phase SCR bridge. To enable the users to operate the 1395 series DC drives as easily as possible, a programming user interface can be attached to the device chassis or wired for remote control. This terminal has 24 buttons and an LCD. It allows users to read messages generated by the drive, change parameters, start and stop the motor, perform auto-tuning, and save the loaded parameters in EEPROM.

The 1395 series of DC drives includes drives in the widest possible area of application in all industries, whether they are used in a new installation or as improvements to already existing DC motor management systems. This series covers a wide range of DC motors that it can control, which are DC motors rated from 1 Horsepower up to 2500 Horsepower in output in MCCs (Motor Control Centers). There is an option for drive models operating at 230 Volts AC, 460 Volts AC, 575 Volts AC, or at 660 Volts AC. The 1395 series DC drives are software programmable, with various communication and I/O options, so they can be integrated into industrial automation networks no matter what the application process needs are.
