About 1397 Drives

The Allen-Bradley 1397 series digital DC drives are tailored to support industrial automation applications in which great dynamic performance and outstanding control of speed, acceleration, and torque are crucial. Allen-Bradley designed these DC drives to make it easier for industrial engineers to handle, install, and integrate these drives with other drives and into machine systems. The 1397 digital DC drives have compact designs, precise motor speed control, and several options for upgrading the standard version with additional digital inputs and outputs, and communication options.

The 1397 digital DC drives can interface feedback, metering, and reference signals.  They work with wireless regulator constructions, and for the setup process, they use a keypad with an LCD. Over this control panel, the users can adjust parameters, monitor measured values in real-time, and read diagnostic messages. The whole motor speed regulating system can be controlled locally over the human-machine interface, GPT, or with the DriveTools software, or remotely by receiving control signals on the terminals at the regulator board terminal strip. The 1397 DC drives can be described as 3-phase full-wave AC/DC power converters without flyback rectifiers. It employs a digital speed regulator and a digital current regulator. The drives can work in the closed-loop speed regulation systems if the tachometers or encoders are connected to the feedback inputs. There are many different power versions of the 1397 DC drives that allow users to find the appropriate power ratings for their applications. They can deliver anything from 1.5 to 600 Horsepower while their input voltage can be 230 Volts AC, 380 to 415 Volts AC, or 460 Volts AC. The DC drive models also support automatic calibration thanks to the auto-tuning function.
