About Kinetix 300

The Kinetix 300 series is a servo drive series from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The drives communicate with the MicroLogix controllers that use Ethernet/IP connections. The drive system is composed of various system components like indexing servo drives, motors, actuators, controllers, programming modules, and servo motors. The Kinetix 300 series drives feature the safe torque-off features which are available with the 120 to 140 Volts AC or 480 Volts AC variants. The memory module programmers in the drives are used to duplicate the memory and the configuration of the Kinetix 300 drives. The RSLogix 5000 software and Logix designer software can be used to control and program the drives. The Kinetix 300 drives are available in different sizes. The location of indicators and connectors is identical in most of the drive variants. The front side of the drives houses the IPD connector, status and diagnostic displays, memory module sockets, Ethernet communication ports, IOD connectors, and motor feedback connectors. The back of the drives is equipped with motor power connectors and the safe torque-off connectors.

The Kinetix 300 series is equipped with 12 digital inputs which can be used to add different plugin devices. Similarly, there are 5 digital outputs, known as the OUT1 to OUT 4 and RDY outputs that are available on the IOD connector. The outputs are usually isolated from the drive circuits. For Ethernet connections, an RJ-45 Ethernet connector is provided on all the Kinetix 300 drives. The Kinetix 300 drives accept the motor feedback signals from different types of feedback devices. They are connected to the drive by using the 15-pin motor feedback connectors and by sharing connector pins. The Kinetix 300 series drives are not water-resistant and they can be used for indoor use only.
