About PowerFlex 755

The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 architecture low-voltage AC drives are state-of-the-art solutions for starting 3-phase motors and controlling motor speed in continuous operation applications. Nearly any feature that users will need for their industrial applications is available with these AC drives. The drives feature multi-line LCD displays and large numbers of buttons on the HMIs so that the operators can intuitively access all the menu options. But to operate these AC drives, the users do not even need to be near them. PowerFlex 755 AC drives have Ethernet connections that can be used to monitor device performance, change parameters, and list alarms remotely through the DriveTools SP software. Since there are 2 Ethernet ports on the devices, these AC drives allow for integration into different network topologies which are the linear, star, ring, and Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies.

All the control mechanisms patented by Allen-Bradley are available to users with these adjustable frequency AC drives, and they are the Volts per Hertz control, SVC (Sensorless Vector Control), vector control with FORCE technology, and the permanent magnet motor control. This enables convenient setup for simpler systems and simpler control algorithms which are faster and easier to tune, and for more complex systems, vector controls are also available. After the initial auto-tuning, the vector algorithms can be further fine-tuned over the parameters for the AC drive to be able to adapt perfectly to industry-specific applications. What sets the PowerFlex 755 Series AC drives apart from the competition are the many safety options such as the safe torque-off certified with the SIL3, PLe, Cat 3 standards. Safe speed monitoring and integrated safety features over the Ethernet/IP network are supported too.
