About SMC-2

The SMC-2 series is a series of smart motor controllers developed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This smart motor controller series contains compact, multi-functional, solid-state controllers that can be used with 3-phase line voltage. These smart motor controllers come with different modes of operation which can serve different application demands. They can work with the soft start, current limit start, and full voltage start methods. The SMC-2 controllers are available in 8 different current ratings of 5, 8, 16, 24, 35, 54, 68, and 87 Amps. Also, they are manufactured in 3 different voltage ranges of 200 to 230 Volts AC, 380 to 460 Volts AC, and 500 to 575 Volts AC with a frequency of 50 to 60 Hertz. These controllers can be used in 2 different kinds of configuration, and they can be used as series controllers and as motor controllers by using additional interface options.

The SMC-2 controllers are certified with the CE, CSA, and UL standards. The noise and RF immunity of the controllers can support surge transient peaks of 3400 Volts with showering arc ratings of 1500 Volts. The offer DV/DT protection by using the RC snubber network. The SMC-2 controllers can withstand and operate with vibrations of 2.5 G for 60 seconds. They can also work with shocks of 30 G for 11 milliseconds.
