About MPF Servo Motors

The Allen-Bradley MPF servo motors are highly hygienic servo motors that share the same platform with other servo motors in the MP series to take advantage of unified motor speed controlling and the unified setup of the same servo controller series. These are highly efficient servo motors with high torque and low acceleration times, and with a mechanical construction that is tailored to the specific requirements of the beverage industries, food industries, and other industries that have high standards of hygiene in the production process. On the low-inertia MPF series servo motors, the connectors for the powering and signaling from the encoders or resolvers are made with IP 66 and IP 67 levels of protection, and they are rotatable to facilitate the installation of the devices quickly and easily. The shaft and the IEC metric mounting surfaces are made of stainless steel, the shafts themselves are made with a shaft seal which is covered with a food-grade grease. The shaft seal is also specially designed to help repel the build-up of deposits. The surface of the servo motors is made of a dual-component epoxy coating that complies with the FDA requirements.

The windings of the Allen-Bradley MPF servo motors are fully encapsulated for efficient moisture protection and for better thermal efficiency. These windings are designed to work with 230 Volts AC or with 460 Volts AC voltage. The encoders come as standard parts of the motors, and 24 Volts breaking systems are integrated into some MPF series models. To control the speed of the MPF series servo motors, the users must couple it with Allen-Bradley Kinetix servo drives in the Kinetix 6000, 6200, or 6500 series.
