The 1398-DDM-030 is a single axis servo drive that is built with flexibility and compatible for use in wide variety of applications.
Ultra 200 features have integral microcontrollers that is specifically designed to manage current, velocity and position. Ultra 200 drives have similar functionalities and differs only according to the output capabilities.
The 1398-DDM-030 features a stand-alone design, Intelligent Power Module (IPM), Digital Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and internal protection for overcurrent, short circuit and overtemperature protection.
The Ultra 200 drives also has integral Analog and Digital interfaces which is user configurable. These interfaces include an analog interface capable of +/- 10VDC signal which may be used for position, velocity and torque control reference. It also has a Quadrature encoder digital interface, Step direction digital interface, Step-up and Step-down interface.
This servo drive is also equipped with internal Overtemperature, short circuit and overcurrent protection, Power time protection, Bus overvoltage, Bus undervoltage, Overspeed, Fault diagnostics, Fused power and Three (3) watchdog timers for fail safe operation.
The 1398-DDM-030 is built with One (1) serial port configurable for RS232 and RS485. RS232 is designed for point to point connection while RS485 is ideal for connecting up to 32 drives in parallel.
This servo drive also supports auto-tuning capability. With auto-tuning, commissioning time is reduced and prevents trial and error. The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-030 ULTRA 200 Universal Digital Servo Drive has a continuous output power of 3000W. This model has an integral power supply and shunt regulator. The 1398-DDM-030 also uses a single-phase power source. When it is assembled with an Allen-Bradley servo motor, it will produce a continuous torque. The resulting torque ranges from 0.34 Nm to 50.8 Nm and the resulting peak torque ranges from 1.02 Nm to 125 Nm. All the connectors are easily accessible, and the indicators are visible on the front panel. Like other ULTRA 200 servo drives, the 1398-DDM-030 also has high-performance microcontroller technology. This technology performs all digital currents, position loops, velocity calculations, and motor commutation calculations. The weight of the 1398-DDM-030 ULTRA 200 servo drive is 14.28 lbs. The peak output current is 30A and the internal continuous output current of the 1398-DDM-030 is 15A. This module produces a peak power output of 3.75 kW at 120V RMS and of 7.5 kW at 240V RMS. There are 4 dedicated I/O and also 8 user selectable I/O. Two analog inputs are for external current limiting and 2 analog outputs are for monitoring variables and torque. Note that the rotating motor shaft can cause injury and damage. The motor must be maintained and tested.
