1797-IRT8

The Allen-Bradley 1797-IRT8 drive is a Flex Ex thermocouple input module. Allen-Bradley has designed this input module to use 8 channels for input and it has a signal range from 0 to 485 ohm and from -40 to 100 MV. The power rating of the drive has a module field-side power consumption of 1.6 Watts and it needs less than 9.5 Volts DC of power supply voltage for Ui and current consumption of less than 1 Amps for Li. The 1797-IRT8 comes with an IP20 enclosure. The enclosure is not water-resistant. It can only be used indoors in a factory and protected from water sprays and splashes. It uses 12 AWG stranded cables for connection purposes. For mounting the input module in different locations, this drive is equipped with a DIN rail mounting option and a panel mounting option. The module has dimensions of a length of 3.7 inches, a width 2.95 inches, and a height of 1.8 inches.

The Allen-Bradley 1797-IRT8 input module can only be operated at a room temperature range between -4 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit. It also requires a relatively humid environment with 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity. The settling time for the input module has been set to 99% of the final value with 8 milliseconds time frame. The 1797-IRT8 drive is equipped with different status indicators, including 8 red fault indicators and 1 green module power indicator. The module supports a configurable channel which allows the module to be used for a variety of sensors. It can also select input filters, reduce the filter settings to provide greater noise reduction and resolution, and select higher filter settings for faster performance. The 1797-IRT8 drive has been certified with the C/US, UL, C-Tick, and the marine-GL certifications. The lead resistance compensation is less than 15 Watts in this type of drive. It has a total power dissipation rating of 1.6 Watts.
