1797-PS1E

The Allen-Bradley 1797-PSIE is a Power supply module that is part of the 1797 Flex Ex product family. This module features an input voltage range of 85-253 VAC along an input frequency of 47-63 Hz. It has Four (4) output ports with each port delivers an output power rating of 8.5 W.

The 1797-PSIE has a flame proof enclosure with increased safety input/output terminations. Wire entry and exit ports of this module is sealed, having an M20 x 1.5 gland that is compatible with 6-12 mm (0.267…0.472 in.) wire diameter for the inputs and M16 x 1.5 gland that is compatible with 4-8 mm (0.157…0.315 in.) wire diameter for the outputs. Each output ports are Intrinsically-safe, galvanically isolated from the source and at the same time independently IS limited.

The 1797-PSIE comes with a protection factor of IP65. When the power supply outputs have been exposed to non-intrinsically safe signals, the 1797-PSIE, cannot be used in intrinsically safe installations. This module is applicable for installation in Zone 1 where the permissible ambient temperature is f -20…70 °C; Zone 22 that corresponds with the category 3D acc. to directive 94/9 EC and is marked with a type label accordingly. When used with an ambient temperature of 60 Degree Celsius, power supply leads must be designed for service temperature of 80 Degree Celsius.

When mounting this device, it is recommended to use star washers and nuts to establish reliable electrical connection. Where grounding bolts are installed, sub-panel paint or coating must be scraped to ensure continuous connection.

The 1797-PSIE supports daisy chain connection. This may be done if the total module power draw is less than 8.5 Watts. Otherwise, individual power supplies must be installed.

The system must be protected against electrostatic discharge. Users need to place a sign on the device indicating that the device is sensitive to electrostatic discharge. The 1797-PS1E must be operated in an ambient temperature range of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius. The output power of the device is 8.5 watts on each channel. The power dissipation of the device is 21 watts and the input power requirement is 55 watts. The approximate dimensions of the device are 5.51 x 6.9 x 11.0 inches.

The device conforms to the IP65 protection standards. The approximate weight of the 1797-PS1E is 7.7 kilograms. It is recommended to pass all the power supply output wires through the ferrite bead before connecting the wires to the power supply.
