1797-RPFM

The 1797-RPFM is an Allen-Bradley module that belong to the Flex Ex modules. This module is ControlNet Ex Fiber Repeater Module. It is used in combination with a repeater media adapter, to form a repeater hub that is approved for installation Hazardous application areas. This module enables extension of ControlNet Ex segments, allowing other nodes to connect to the existing Controlnet network.

This module has Two (2) Fiber links channels with allowable Fiber media length of 3 Km. The embedded fiber port is appropriately used with 62.5…125 mm fiber type and connector type of ST (plastic or ceramic). The module’s fiber optic wavelength is 1300 nm and Optical Power Budget is 13.3 dB.

The module’s communication rate is 5Mbps, with embedded Channel 1 and Channel 2 Status indicators. This module carries agency certifications from CENELEC for C II 2G ib[ia] IIC T4 U approvals, UL, C-UL for Class I Division 1 Groups A-D T4 Class I Zone 1 AEx ib [ia] IIC T4 ratings, FM Class I Division 1 Groups A-D T4 Class I Zone 1 AEx ib IIC T4, INMETRO for BR-Ex ia/ib IIB/IIC T4 and IECEx for Ex ib IIC T4 and Ex ib[ia] IIC T4.

The 1797-RPFM supports use of a mounting kit with catalog number 1794-NM1. This mounting kit allows the Fiber Repeater module module to be mounted directly to a DIN rail or to the enclosure’s mounting plate. This kit has 18 screws wherein 2 screws are intended for the adapter and 2 screws for each module. The 1797-RPFM features a 62.5 to 125 millimeters fiber type and the approximate length of the fiber media is 3 kilometers. The operating wavelength of the fiber is 1300 nanometers and optical power budget of the module is 13.3 decibels. The module also features the ST termination type of fiber, which is either plastic or ceramic. The repeater module’s dimensions are 94 x 94 x 91 millimeters (3.7 x 3.7 x 3.58 inches) and its weight is approximately 100 grams or 0.22 pounds. The environmental conditions of the module include an operating temperature range of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius (-4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit) and storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). Also, it includes a relative humidity of 5 to 95% without condensation. The module is tested to withstand a shock of 15 grams of peak acceleration with 11 milliseconds of pulse width while operating and while not operating. In addition to this, the module is tested for 2 grams of vibration at 10 to 500 Hertz according to the IEC 68-2-6 standard. The manufactured 1797-RPFM module includes certifications from the UL, C-UL INMETRO, IECEx, FM and CENELEC standards.
